The Listener
TW-195 is housed in a comfortable room in the cooperative wing. Access is approved on a case-by-case basis. Session lengths are limited to 45 minutes after several overruns. No one who has spoken with TW-195 has assessed it as a threat.
TW-195 is an entity that resembles an elderly person and has been in M.A.L.I.C.E voluntary custody for 12 years. It does not eat, does not sleep, and appears to have no physical needs. It listens — specifically, to anyone who speaks to it, with complete, patient, unwavering attention. Individuals who speak to TW-195 at length report it as one of the most significant experiences of their lives. It never speaks. It never reacts with visible emotion. And yet researchers leave sessions describing being 'truly heard for the first time.' Four have requested to return. Three have left the organisation to do things they had been postponing for years.
TW-195 was found sitting on a public bench. It had been there for 3 days, unmoving. Multiple passersby had sat with it and told it things. None could explain why.
No incident reports on file.
