The Audit
TW-190 cannot be contained. The facility maintains a standard of conduct consistent with the assumption that it is being periodically evaluated. The Director has authorised this framing as 'operationally useful regardless of whether the entity exists.'
TW-190 is a designation for an event that M.A.L.I.C.E believes occurs periodically, in which an unknown entity reviews the organisation's activities and decisions. Evidence: 4 occasions over 18 years in which every system in the facility simultaneously experienced a 3-second pause — clocks, computers, heartbeat monitors in medical — before resuming normally. Each occasion was preceded by a period of heightened anomalous activity across all active TWs. No entity has been identified. No communication has been received. The pauses are interpreted as acknowledgment.
TW-190 was classified after the third facility pause. A systems analyst produced a report showing the statistical impossibility of all systems pausing simultaneously without cause. The Director read the report overnight and returned it with a single note: 'We are being watched. Behave accordingly.'
No incident reports on file.
