The Slow Reader
TW-184 is in voluntary residence in the cooperative wing. They are provided with comfortable reading accommodation and a regular welfare check. They have asked not to be disturbed while reading. This request is respected.
TW-184 is an individual who reads at a rate of approximately 1 word per 2 minutes — not due to any cognitive or visual impairment, but because they experience each word they read as a complete and extended sensory event. They describe reading a single sentence as lasting 'hours of experience.' They have been reading the same book since entering M.A.L.I.C.E custody 9 years ago. They are on page 4. They report it as the best book they have ever read.
TW-184 was self-referred after their employer cited their reading-related inability to process written communications in a timely manner. TW-184 described their condition clearly and asked if M.A.L.I.C.E could help. M.A.L.I.C.E offered accommodation instead.
No incident reports on file.
