The Passenger
TW-167 requires no containment. The rail operator is aware and has chosen not to disclose the phenomenon — their data shows it does not reduce ridership. M.A.L.I.C.E monitors via periodic field observations.
TW-167 is a phenomenon affecting long-distance train services on a specific route. Passengers travelling alone consistently report a period — between 20 minutes and 2 hours depending on the individual — during which they become aware of an unseen presence seated beside them. The presence does not speak, does not move, and is not visible or detectable by any means, but is perceived with extreme clarity. Passengers describe it as feeling 'accompanied.' The majority report the experience as comforting rather than distressing.
TW-167 was identified when a researcher on an unrelated field trip used the route and filed an anomaly report. Cross-referencing passenger reviews showed the phenomenon had been described — in vague, non-anomalous terms — for at least 12 years.
No incident reports on file.
