TW-153 is a staircase that appears in large multi-storey buildings without prior construction, typically overnight, and is indistinguishable from the building's existing staircases in materials and style. The staircase leads to a floor that exists in TW-153 only — a single room that contains a desk, a chair, and a window looking out on a landscape that does not correspond to the building's location. The room is always tidy. There is always a cup of tea on the desk, always freshly made.
TW-153 was first identified in a hospital where a porter reported a staircase that had not been there the previous shift. The room at the top looked out over mountains the hospital had no view of.
