Document Reference: TW-128
The Soft Machine
TW-128 is housed on a medical-grade support table in Sector 3. It is monitored continuously. Any change in vital readings must be logged immediately. No personnel are to touch TW-128 without gloves — prior contact has resulted in subjects reporting a strong and inexplicable emotional attachment lasting several days.
TW-128 is a mechanical device of unknown construction that resembles a human torso, approximately life-sized, made of some material that is warm to the touch and yields under pressure like flesh. It breathes — a slow, rhythmic expansion and contraction — and registers a heartbeat on monitoring equipment. It has no head, no limbs, and no orifices. Tests suggest it is alive by all biochemical definitions. Its origin is entirely unknown. It has never moved independently.
TW-128 was delivered to the facility by courier in a padded case. The sender's address was a vacant lot. No manifest accompanied the delivery. The courier has no memory of accepting the package.
No incident reports on file.
