Echo Ward

TW-104 is secured within the hospital, which was purchased by a M.A.L.I.C.E front company. Access to the fourth floor is restricted to Level 2 and above. Personnel entering TW-104 must not stand still for more than 90 seconds at a time. All recordings are archived in Audio Archive Room 4. Personnel are not to attempt to transcribe the PA announcement.

TW-104 is an abandoned hospital ward on the fourth floor of ████████ General Hospital, sealed since 1971. The ward is 84 meters long and contains 32 beds, all empty. Personnel entering the ward report hearing sounds — footsteps, breathing, the creak of trolley wheels, the distant murmur of a PA system — that do not correspond to anything present. Recording equipment captures these sounds. Audio analysis cannot identify a source. The sounds react to personnel: footsteps accelerate when personnel move quickly, breathing grows louder when personnel stop, the PA murmur resolves into something that sounds like a name when personnel stand still for more than two minutes. No name has been successfully transcribed.

TW-104 was reported by a security guard hired by the hospital's then-owners. The guard described the ward as 'occupied but empty.' Upon investigation M.A.L.I.C.E confirmed the audio phenomenon. The guard was administered Class-A amnestics. The hospital was acquired the following year.
