The Speaking Wound
The 6 individuals are monitored with their consent. Audio is recorded nightly. Transcription and translation are ongoing. The individuals have been advised of the situation and are receiving psychological support.
TW-092 is a phenomenon observed in 6 individuals who have sustained injuries in specific geographic proximity to M.A.L.I.C.E-catalogued anomalies. The wounds — cuts, burns, and in one case a fracture — have developed the ability to vocalise. The vocalisations are quiet and occur only at night. The voices speak in languages the individuals do not know. Linguists working with M.A.L.I.C.E have identified the languages as extinct dialects of three separate language families. The content of the speech is being transcribed and analysed. None of the 6 individuals can hear their own wounds speaking.
TW-092 was identified when a nurse monitoring an injured M.A.L.I.C.E researcher overnight reported hearing a faint voice emanating from the bandaged wound. The researcher was asleep at the time.
No incident reports on file.
