The Expected Call
TW-083 cannot be contained. A registry of recipients is maintained. Recipients are interviewed before and after their anticipated news event. The source of the calls cannot be traced. The selection criteria for recipients are unknown.
TW-083 is a telephone call phenomenon. Individuals who are about to receive important news — a medical diagnosis, a job offer, a death notification — receive a phone call 24-48 hours in advance from an unidentified number. The caller says nothing beyond confirming the recipient's name. The call lasts 4-12 seconds. Recipients who have been tracked report that without exception, within 48 hours of TW-083's call, they receive the anticipated news. They do not know in advance what the news will be, only that something significant is coming.
TW-083 was identified by a pattern analyst reviewing unusual communications data. The analyst had received such a call themselves, as had two colleagues, and noticed the correlation with subsequent significant events.
