The Inverse Clock

Contained
Classification: Class-II
Containment Procedures

TW-057 is stored in a dedicated room in Sub-Level 1. Entry requires Level 2 clearance. Sessions are limited to 30 minutes. Personnel who report persistent perceptual effects after exposure are to be monitored and restricted from timekeeping-critical roles until effects resolve.

Description

TW-057 is a grandfather clock, mahogany case, estimated manufacture 1880s. Its hands run counterclockwise at exactly the right speed to display accurate time to anyone who has learned to read it in reverse. More significantly, anyone who spends more than one hour in the room with TW-057 begins to perceive all clocks — digital or analogue — as running counterclockwise. The perceptual shift reverses within 3 days of leaving the room. Two researchers report the shift never fully reversed.

Discovery Log

TW-057 was acquired from an estate auction. Its anomalous properties were discovered when a cataloguing researcher spent an afternoon working in its presence and subsequently reported difficulty reading clocks.
