The Returning Tide

Active
Classification: Class-IV
Containment Procedures

The beach has been acquired by a M.A.L.I.C.E cover organisation. Monitoring equipment is in place. During each tidal event, a research team is deployed immediately. No structure is to be entered. No material is to be removed without prior authorisation. Structural growth data is a Priority 1 research concern.

Description

TW-053 is a tidal event observed at one specific beach in ████████. At irregular intervals — ranging from 3 days to 11 months — the tide retreats further than physically possible given the geography and lunar cycle, exposing approximately 4km of previously submerged seabed. The exposed seabed contains structures of unknown origin and age. The tide returns within 6-9 hours, submerging the structures again. M.A.L.I.C.E has documented 9 such events. The structures appear to be growing.

Discovery Log

TW-053 was first documented by a local fishing community that had observed the phenomenon for generations. M.A.L.I.C.E was alerted after a photograph of the exposed structures appeared on a news website.

Incident Report #001 — Date: [REDACTED]

During the 7th tidal event, one of the structures appeared to have an open door that was closed in all previous observations. Three researchers approached to photograph it. The door was closed by the time they arrived. Review of footage confirmed the door was open for exactly 11 minutes.
