TW-049 is an entity observed exclusively on public transport — buses, trains, and one documented occurrence on a commercial aircraft. It appears as a passenger — always seated, always holding a bag on its lap, always looking out a window or at a door. It is never seen boarding or alighting. Other passengers do not notice it. Surveillance footage does not capture it. It has been photographed 4 times, always by someone who noticed it and felt compelled to photograph it immediately. In all 4 photographs it is looking directly at the camera.

TW-049 was identified through a viral social media photograph. A commuter posted an image of what she described as an uncanny fellow passenger. M.A.L.I.C.E analysed the photograph and matched it to three other unrelated images taken over the previous decade.
