The Last Voicemail
TW-020 cannot be contained. M.A.L.I.C.E monitors telecommunications systems for TW-020 signatures. Recipients are to be identified and offered psychological support through a cover organization. The 23% mortality correlation is under active research. All TW-020 voicemails that can be recovered are to be archived in the audio division for analysis.
TW-020 is an anomalous voicemail that appears on the phones of specific individuals without any record of an incoming call. The voicemail is always the same duration (4 minutes, 12 seconds) but the content is unique to each recipient — a voice that sounds like someone the recipient loves, delivering what appears to be a final goodbye. Analysis has confirmed the voice is not a recording of any living or deceased individual — it is generated by an unknown mechanism. Recipients uniformly describe the experience as devastating. In 23% of documented cases, recipients have died within the year of causes unrelated to TW-020 exposure.
TW-020 was identified by a M.A.L.I.C.E telecommunications analyst who received one personally. The analyst flagged the call's metadata absence and submitted it for review. Investigation identified 47 prior instances.
